More On Industry Money

A recent Businessweek article discusses the decision by Pfizer to suspend funding of CME events for doctors. The article also mentions that Zimmer Holdings, a medical device manufacturer, has decided to fund courses by identifying an independent third part to organize the events. This still means funding, however. Thus far, medical device manufacturers have not had as much scrutiny as the pharmaceutical companies in issues of transparency.
