Medtronic recently announced that it would publish charitable contributions to customers in a Charitable Donations Registry. I thought I would check out a company that markets psychiatric drugs and found the following information.
This data is the political contributions made by Pfizer and its PAC from January to December 2007. It is interesting given the recent political conventions and the current debate about transparency. Among other donations (despite all the talk about politicians divorcing themselves from lobbyists), Pfizer gave $250,000 to each of the Republican and Democratic Host Committees. Don't mean to single out Pfizer (I am sure other corporations have made similar contributions); the information was readily available on their site.
