Children's Mental Health Still In Limbo After Katrina

A new study released by the The Children's Health Fund and Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health shows that children are still suffering the consequences of living in limbo after Katrina. The study indicates that between 46,000 and 64,000 children who were displaced by Katrina are still at risk for long-term health and social problems. Children at risk includes those whose academic performance has suffered, those who have lost access to medical care (either insurance or access to care) and those with clinically diagnosed depression, anxiety or behavior disorders.
