Brain Protein May Provide Insight Into Autism
Researcher Li-Huei Tsai, Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has identified a protein which may affect brain development. Deficiencies in the amount of protein called Cdk5 may hinder the development of connections, or synapses, in the brain. This research was published in the December 6th issue of the journal, Neuron.
