Selective Publication of Antidepressant Trials
This week's New England Journal features an article on selective publication of antidepressant trials and its influence on perceived efficacy. 37 of 38 positive studies were published while the negative studies tended toward not being published. Effect sizes for published studies averaged .37 while effect sizes for unpublished studies averaged 0.15 (a significant difference).
